Three Decades of VW Love, Under the Arches
Jack's Garage has been in Ladbroke Grove W10 since 1995. A family business built on skill, honesty, and a genuine love for Volkswagen.
The Workshop
Jack's Garage has operated from the railway arches on Kingsdown Close in West London since 1995. The arches are iconic — tucked just off Ladbroke Grove, near Portobello Road Market, a short walk from Ladbroke Grove and Latimer Road Underground stations. If you spot a cluster of VWs parked up outside, you've found us.
The garage works exclusively on Volkswagens. That single focus is the reason customers trust it — every spanner, every diagnostic tool, every box of spare parts in this building is specific to VW. The team works on every model ever made, from the earliest air-cooled Beetles and split-screen Campervans to current ID-series electric vehicles.
All work comes with a 12-month / 12,000-mile guarantee. Independent servicing here does not affect your VW manufacturer warranty — legislation introduced in 2003 protects your warranty rights when using a qualified independent garage.

Joseph & the Team
Joseph is the lead specialist at Jack's Garage and one of the UK's foremost experts in Volkswagen electric vehicle conversions. His deep knowledge of VW engineering — built over thirty years in the workshop — has made the garage a destination for VW owners who want work done properly, not quickly.
His interest in EV technology led to a chance encounter with eClassics at a German classic car show, which led Jack's Garage to become the UK agent for eClassics' plug-and-play VW conversion kits — technology developed with support from Volkswagen themselves. Joseph's own Beetle, Pugsley, was the first UK conversion in 2019.
Every mechanic in the workshop holds IMI Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications. No one here works on anything but VWs.
Give Your Classic VW a Future
Jack's Garage is the UK agent for eClassics, the Stuttgart-based company commissioned by Volkswagen to develop plug-and-play EV conversion kits for air-cooled classics. The technology replaces the combustion drivetrain while preserving everything that makes your VW yours — its character, its bodywork, its soul.
Joseph drove his own Beetle, Pugsley, as the first converted vehicle in 2019. He knows every step of the process from lived experience, not just technical training. Every conversion is handled personally by the workshop with the care it deserves.
Not Just a Garage. A Workshop Full of VW Enthusiasts.
Thirty years of doing this one thing properly. Every tool, every conversation, every spare part — it's all about VWs.
VW Only
The workshop has always focused exclusively on Volkswagen. That focus means deeper knowledge, better tooling, and faster diagnosis than a generalist garage can offer.
12-Month Guarantee
Every piece of work is guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles — whichever comes first. If something we've done isn't right, we put it right.
Warranty-Safe Servicing
Independent servicing at Jack's Garage does not invalidate your VW manufacturer warranty. Legislation since 2003 gives you the right to choose where your car is serviced.
Air-Cooled Expertise
Air-cooled VW mechanics are a vanishing breed. Jack's Garage has protected this knowledge since 1995 and it remains central to what the workshop does.
IMI Level 3 & 4 Trained
Every mechanic holds IMI Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications. Proper credentials, not marketing language.

As the UK agent for eClassics, we offer the only factory-approved plug-and-play EV conversion kits for air-cooled Volkswagens available in the UK.

An Iconic London Workshop
The railway arches are part of West London's fabric. Kingsdown Close sits between Ladbroke Grove and the Westway — easily reached by public transport, with Ladbroke Grove and Latimer Road (Circle and Hammersmith & City lines) both within a ten-minute walk.
If you need to leave your VW with us, there are coffee shops, the market at Portobello Road, and plenty to do nearby while you wait.
Street parking is available on Kingsdown Close and the surrounding streets. Look for the cluster of classic VWs outside the arches — you'll know you're in the right place.
Ready to Book Your VW In?
